Grandma Josephine appears in two of Roald Dahl's stories: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator.
She’s married to Grandpa Joe. She is the mother of Mr. Bucket in the book, although in the 1971 film, Joe is the mother of Mrs. Bucket, making it likely she is now Mrs. Bucket's mother here.

In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, she’s played by the late Eileen Essell. In the script, it is said that she is Joe's compassionate wife, with a knack for spotting what's truly important.
