Mr. Wilkinson is a minor character from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory in both the 1971 and 2017 Tom & Jerry versions.
Background[]
Under orders from Willy Wonka, he disguises himself as his business rival, Arthur Slugworth, to give the Golden Ticket winners a moral test of character.
Wilkinson, impersonating Slugworth, would appear before each ticket winner and offer them a cash reward if they bring him a sample of Wonka's Everlasting Gobstoppers. This test was done to test the winners' generosity, willpower, honesty, and loyalty to Wonka.
Mike Teavee (on the advice of his mother) and Veruca Salt respond to the bribe before their downfalls, therefore failing Wilkinson's test. Charlie Bucket, not wishing to betray Wonka, returned his Gobstopper to him, thereby passing the test as the latter declares him the winner. The test was part of Wonka's plan to find an heir for his factory.
